  • 88 Line sets. 60’ long, 6” apart, out trim 79’. Grid is subway grate, line sets can be diverted.
  • Orchestra Pit: Two Elevator Pits, front of each pit has a curve. Stage is 3’ 4” high from house seating level. Pit plays 8’ below stage level. US pit is 52’ 4” wide by 9’ 1” deep at center and 5’ deep at each end. DS pit is 57’ 8” wide by 9’ 6” deep at center and 9’ 6” deep at each end. When the pit is down you gain under stage space 6’ 6” deep by 63’ wide.
  • Shell Ceiling: Hangs on motorized pipe at 5’ 6” ceiling is 1’ 4” thick, 64’ long, and 65’ from bottom edge to stage floor.
  • Grid Hatch: 53”X 60” with a door. SR next to the first well between line set 74 and 84.

Front of House Hanging Points

  • 4 Apron rigging points (Lion King): approximately 6ft. DS of smoke pocket, two are 5’ off centerline and two 15’ off centerline.
  • 8 Phantom rigging points: 4 are approximately 3’ 4”DS of smoke pocket, 2 are 7’ SL & SR of center and 2 are 21’ off center. 4 are approximately 7’ 5” DS of smoke pocket, 2 are 7’ SL & SR of center, 2 are 21’ SL & SR of center. Not easy points to use.
  • 5 Front of house truss rigging points: approximately 18’ DS of smoke pocket, 1 at center, 2 at 6’ 7” SL & SR of center and 2 at 20’ SL & SR of center.
  • Sound points: 11ft steel beam rated at 1-ton WLL, located left and right next to the proscenium oriented parallel to and, about 1’ DS of the smoke pocket. Beams equipped with 1-ton motor on trolleys.

Lighting Control

  • Light Board: ETC ION 6000
  • Dimming: (480) 20 amp dimmers (48) 50 amp dimmers hard wired to production lighting circuits, all terminating in grounded stage pin connectors.
  • Front of House Transfer Panel: Located on SL wall, access to all odd number FOH circuits. Road tie-in to DMX to control of all house circuits.

Lighting Positions

  • Light Booth: Board can be set up in the booth 90’ from the plaster line. Booth is open to audience chamber, 20’ wide x 12’ deep and is shared with sound.
  • Follow Spot Booth: Located rear of balcony. (3) Lycian 1295 3K. Throw to plaster line is 130’, power and room for fourth spot.
  • Lighting Bridge # 1: 34 circuits, 50’ throw to deck @ 65 degrees. (2) 26 deg. & (2) 19 deg.
  • Cove: 72 circuits, 96’ throw to deck @ 37 degrees. (20) 5 deg., (4) 10 deg. & (4) 14 deg.
  • Balcony Rail: 12 circuits, 94’ throw @ degrees. (2) 36 deg. & (2) 10 deg., hanging pipe is 1” ID.
  • Mezzanine Rail: 12 circuits, 94’ throw @ 17 degrees. (12) 19 deg., hanging pipe is 1” ID.
  • (Box Booms) Torms SL & SR: 15 circuits per side, 8’ DS of plaster line. (8) 26 deg. per side.
  • (Tech Boxes) Horizontal Box Boom (High) SL & SR: 16 circuits. (3) 19 deg. & (6) 14 deg. per side. 56’ to 87’ from stage.
  • (Balcony) Horizontal Box Boom (Mid) SL & SR: 9 circuits. (6) 19 deg. per side. 38’ to 74’ from stage.
  • (Mezzanine) Horizontal Box Boom (Low) SL & SR: 9 circuits. (3) 19 deg. & (3) 26 deg. per side. 21’ to 54’ from stage.

Sound System

  • Mix Position: Located back of Orchestra audience chamber, 90’ from plaster line. Permanent. 20’ wide, 12’ deep. Shared with lighting.
  • FOH Console: DiGiCo SD12. (1) D-Rack (32x16). (1) D2-Rack (48x16).
  • MON Console: Yamaha PM5D-RH.
  • Monitor Speakers: (8) Fulcrum Acoustic FA12ac (powered active 2-way). (1) Fulcrum Acoustic TS215ac available upon request (powered sub).
  • System Processing: BSS Soundweb London BLU handles all distribution and processing. d&b system processed by 30D amps.
  • Main PA: d&b V-Series line array with 10 per side full range cabinets and 6 per side V-Sub cabinets. The system is Array Processed. Additional V-Series cabinets can be deployed at the proscenium along with d&b 4s lip fills, as needed.
  • Center Cluster: (5) Martin WT-3 [low/mid/high], covers balcony seating areas and Boxes 2-4 on all levels.
  • Under Balcony Fills: (8) JBL 8305 per level (Orchestra, Grand Tier, Mezzanine. Delayed to cluster.
  • Upper Balcony Fills: (5) Turbosound TMS-1 covering last three rows of Balcony. Delayed to cluster.
  • Box Fills: (1) JBL 8305 per box, 8 boxes per side, 16 boxes total. Delayed to cluster.
  • Paging: Backstage paging stations located, DSL, DSR, Tech Table and FOH Mix. Priority override.
  • Show Relay: Backstage relay available in all backstage areas. Volume has page priority override.
  • Listening Assist: Williams Sound FM ALS System. Distribution station located in lobby Grand Tier Coat Check.
  • Intercom: Clear-Com 4 channel system with connections throughout stage area.

Loading Dock

Interior loading dock controlled by Bank of America. Prior authorization required for all use. Back in blind from N. College St. Three truck dock (two levelers, third needs dock plate). Two dock doors, 12’ wide 15’ high. Dock is stage level. There is a slight downward slope towards dock doors. 1 ton chain motor USL to stack/unstack boxes.

Freight Elevator

Freight Elevator connects L2 (basement), L1 (stage and dock level), 2nd and 3rd floors. Door is 8’ x 8’. Interior dimension is 10’ wide x 20’ long x 8’ high. Elevator has a 10,000lb capacity.

SM Calling Desk

SM calling desk is DSL. Desk is standing height with storage and a video monitor showing the stage from lowest balcony. Additional video monitor on SR. Microphone provided for backstage paging. God mic available upon request.

Union Information

The Belk Theatre is a union house. All Stagehands are provided by IATSE Local 322. Local 322 is a mixed local representing all crafts and truck loaders. Venue has no other union contracts (AFM, Equity, etc.).
